Joint pain, including hips and knees
Joint pain care at our Finsbury Park clinic
Instead of treating each joint in isolation, we consider the broader postural context and how it may be affecting the joint. For osteoarthritis, chiropractic care works alongside the primary treatments and exercises recommended by your GP.

Why a painful joint is often a loaded joint
Hips, knees and ankles carry your weight all day. How that weight lands on them depends on the position of everything above: the pelvis, the spine and the head. When the body is pulled forward and twisted, some joints end up carrying far more than their share.
Pain in a hip or knee is often the sign of that extra load, not a problem that started in the joint itself.
How we help with joint pain
Your initial consultation is up to an hour: a detailed case history, an examination of your muscles, joints and nerves, and postural photos so we can see how your whole body is carrying itself.
We look at the painful joint, and at how your weight is travelling through it. At your report of findings we explain what we found and recommend a care plan.
What care at Posture & Wellness involves
ABC™ corrects the bones that have shifted forward and that your body cannot put back on its own. As your posture straightens, your weight lands more evenly and the overloaded joint gets a rest.
If you have osteoarthritis, our care sits alongside the treatment and exercise plan your GP has recommended, not in place of it.
Adjustments are gentle, full-body and done fully clothed. We also show you how to sit, sleep and stand so the correction holds between visits.
When to see a doctor first
Please get medical help first if a joint is hot, swollen and red, especially with a high temperature, if you cannot put weight on it after an injury, if it is badly swollen or out of shape, or if it keeps locking or giving way.
