Shoulder complaints
Chiropractor for shoulder pain in Finsbury Park
Shoulder pain, restricted movement and dysfunction around the shoulder can be aggravated by postural patterns elsewhere in the body. This is why we look at how the whole body moves, not just the shoulder itself, to help ease pain and improve function.

Why the shoulder is rarely the whole story
The shoulder is the most mobile joint in the body and relies on the neck, upper back and ribcage for a stable base. When the upper back rounds and the head drifts forward, the shoulder is pushed forward with it and the tissues around it are kept under strain.
That is why a shoulder that has been treated on its own can keep flaring up. The joint is doing its best in a position it was never meant to hold.
How we help with shoulder complaints
Your initial consultation is up to an hour: a detailed case history, an examination of your muscles, joints and nerves, and postural photos so we can see how your whole body is carrying itself.
At your report of findings we explain what we found and recommend a care plan.
What care at Posture & Wellness involves
ABC™ corrects the bones that have shifted forward and that your body cannot put back on its own. As your structure settles, the shoulder can sit back in its natural position and move freely again.
Adjustments are gentle, full-body and done fully clothed. We also show you how to sit, sleep and stand so the correction holds between visits.
When to see a doctor first
Please get medical help first if your shoulder pain follows a fall or injury and the shoulder looks out of shape, if you cannot move your arm, if the joint is hot, swollen and red, or if you have a high temperature or feel very unwell.
Call 999 if shoulder pain comes on suddenly with chest pain, breathlessness or sweating.
Frequently asked questions
Will the adjustments hurt?
Most people find them comfortable, and many tell us they feel a bit lighter or more upright afterwards. We always explain what we're doing before we do it and work at a pace that's right for you.
Do I need a referral from my GP?
No. Chiropractic care is a primary healthcare profession, so you can book in with us directly.
