Rotator cuff injuries
Rotator cuff care at our Finsbury Park clinic
Rotator cuff injuries, disorders, and recurring shoulder issues are often associated with postural and structural patterns further up the chain. We look at how the neck, upper back, and shoulders are working together to support recovery and function.

What is the rotator cuff?
The rotator cuff is the group of muscles and tendons that hold your shoulder joint together and let you lift and turn your arm. When it is injured or irritated, reaching, lifting and lying on that side can all hurt.
The shoulder sits on the upper back and takes its position from it. If the upper back is rounded and the head is carried forward, the shoulder blade is pulled out of place and the rotator cuff works harder than it should.
How we help with rotator cuff problems
Your initial consultation is up to an hour: a detailed case history, an examination of your muscles, joints and nerves, and postural photos so we can see how your whole body is carrying itself.
We look at how your shoulder moves, but also at your neck and upper back, because that is usually where the pattern starts. At your report of findings we explain what we found and recommend a care plan.
What care at Posture & Wellness involves
ABC™ corrects the bones that have shifted forward and that your body cannot put back on its own. As the upper back unwinds, the shoulder blade settles back where it belongs and the load on the rotator cuff eases.
Adjustments are gentle, full-body and done fully clothed. We also show you how to sit, sleep and stand so the correction holds between visits.
When to see a doctor first
Please get medical help first if your shoulder pain started with a fall or injury and the shoulder looks out of shape, if you cannot move your arm at all, if the joint is hot, swollen and red, or if you have a high temperature.
Call 999 if shoulder pain comes on suddenly with chest pain, breathlessness or sweating.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a referral from my GP?
No. Chiropractic care is a primary healthcare profession, so you can book in with us directly.
How many sessions will I need?
This depends on your body, your history and what you're hoping to achieve. We won't know until we've examined you. We'll talk you through a recommended plan at your report of findings.
